Allasia, president of Confagricoltura Piemonte: "Ready to work together to do better". Rural Development Plan: Piedmont has so far disbursed just over 60% of the funds available for the 2014-2020 period. "Well the will to drastically reduce the bureaucracy".

"We agree with President Cirio on the need for a Pact for Piedmont and we are ready to commit ourselves to building and implementing an economic recovery plan that sees agriculture as one of the main architects of the recovery ". Enrico Allasia, president of Confagricoltura Piemonte , speaking on the statements of the president of the Region Alberto Cirio, shares the objectives indicated by the subalpine junta. " We must all work together - says Allasia - to define a new Rural Development Program that allows companies to be able to fully and quickly exploit all the resources available ".

Confagricoltura points out that in the programming period that has just ended, while bearing in mind that the residual resources can be used in the next two years, Piedmont's spending capacity has proved to be very limited.

Based on non-definitive data as at 31 December 2020 processed by Agea relating to the progress of expenditure (Public and EAFRD share) actually incurred, Piedmont ranks at 60.34%, against the almost total commitment of resources. " This means that the system of planning, management of tenders, reporting and testing has worked slowly and that it can and must be improved ", comments Enrico Allasia, president of Confagricoltura Piemonte.

" We appreciate the commitment of President Cirio who declared that he wanted to expand the use of self-certifications and ex post controls for regional authorizations and contributions, in order to speed up streamline the bureaucratic burden for citizens and businesses - added the director of Confagricoltura Piemonte. Ercole Zuccaro - because agriculture, which in the year of Covid continued to work to ensure quality food and valuable raw materials to local agri-food industries that have been able to maintain important positions also on international markets, is ready to do its part , with over 42,000 active agricultural enterprises and 65,000 employed, in the interest of the territory and citizens ".
