In China, Italian sparkling wine recorded a record increase in demand where consumption more than tripled (+235 percent) in 2011 also thanks to the presence of at least 2.7 million people with a personal net worth of over 6 million of yuan (over 600,000 euros) that enhance Italian food. This is what emerges from an analysis by Coldiretti on the occasion of the visit of Prime Minister Mario Monti to China.
7.6 million bottles were exported to this country, especially Prosecco for an amount of 67 million euros, a record growth of 63 percent.
