Coldiretti stated that sales in the cellar have reached the value of 1.2 billion euros in the last year.
'' There are over 20 thousand - underlines Coldiretti - the Italian farms that sell their wine directly in the cellar, but in recent years in Italy the possibilities of purchasing without intermediation have multiplied with the opening of markets and shops of farmers of Campagna Amica and also through the internet ''.
Coldiretti's online survey says that seven out of ten Italians bought wine directly from the producer:
33% in farmers' markets
27% on farms and in the cellar
4% from the manufacturer's website.
'' The purchase of wine in the cellar - specifies Coldiretti - is a rapidly expanding phenomenon that represents an opportunity for consumers who can thus save money and guarantee quality purchases, but also an opportunity for agricultural businesses that they can sell without intermediaries ''.
Coldiretti already attests the success of wine tourism when the 2012 edition of 'Calici di stelle' is underway and approaches its clue night!
