Librandi is now Ambassador Emeritus of the Cities of Wine, thanks to its ability to launch the Cirò wine internationally
The Cities of Wine National Association has appointed Professor Nicodemo Librandi, from Ciro Marina, Ambassador Emeritus. The title of ambassador emeritus is awarded to personalities of the world of wine, economics, science, art, that spread wine culture in line with the principles of the Association.
This is the motivation for this recognition:
Nicodemo Librandi “has managed to combine passion, tradition and innovation: his action gave a breakthrough in the field of research and experimentation that led him to constitute the Collection of 300 native grape varieties of Calabria ensuring the conservation of the varietal germplasm, rescuing it to the genetic erosion and preserving biodiversity”.
Today Librandi is also president of the Euvite Consortium, that plays a unifying and driving role in the creation of a producers’ network of synergistic and innovative identity strength within the viticulture of Calabria.
