CARDIOVASCULAR PREVENTION: BOTTEGA SPA OFFERS EMPLOYEES FREE SCREENING AT VILLA SALUS HOSPITAL

"According to the civil code, a company is a group of people and means capable of producing income. But a modern company, especially a benefit one, must also have social responsibility for its activity, which means producing sustainable well-being", declared Sandro Bottega , owner of Bottega Spa, winery and distillery in Bibano di Godega (TV). Bottega continues: "And all this happens by creating quality products at fair prices, with teams of people working in harmony in a pleasant environment and with respect for the surrounding environment, which ranges from respect for one's neighbors to emissions into the atmosphere, to processing waste. But in all of this, the team is central and the well-being of the people who compose it is also proportional to the quality of the products they produce. A farmer who lives happily will have more passion in cultivating the vine and care in harvesting; a winemaker will want to produce a better and healthier wine; a bottling operator will try to produce perfect bottles to please his colleagues and the final consumer. In the same way, the salespeople will present the products with greater passion; and the administrators will manage the company with the aim of doing good for everyone". Therefore, in addition to the approximately 1,000 euros of welfare for each of the over 200 employees, Bottega SpA has now decided for the year 2023/24 to also offer a cardiological screening to its employees, in order to guarantee adequate prevention for all staff who wants to participate in the project. This screening will take place in collaboration with the Villa Salus Clinic and the cardiologist leading this project is Dr. Fausto Rigo (head of the cardiology service at the Villa Salus Hospital), a true luminary of research in this field. "In a historical period characterized by great uncertainty, our company has therefore chosen to offer its employees, as part of its welfare initiatives, a medical examination and free screening to prevent cardiovascular diseases", specified the entrepreneur winemaker Sandro Bottega. According to the Ministry of Health, cardiovascular diseases still represent the main cause of death in Italy, being responsible for 34.8% of all deaths (31.7% in males and 37.7% in females). Health is a primary good, which must be safeguarded at all costs with prevention. Early diagnosis is in fact the most effective tool to defend against cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Bottega continues: "The planning of targeted screening, differentiated for men and women based on the probability of pathologies, is therefore not a simple incentive of the welfare range, but also carries out the function of spreading the culture of prevention among the company's collaborators, in the belief that periodic checks are crucial, even when no explicit signal arrives from the body". Starting from November, some doctors from the Villa Salus hospital went to the Bottega SpA headquarters to offer their advice to the employees who joined the prevention program. Subsequently, according to a calendar agreed with each person, the screening with relative instrumental analysis will be carried out within the Villa Salus hospital facility in Mestre (VE).
