CAORLE-VALLEVECCHIA (VE): INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AGAINST VARROA DELLE API

On Wednesday 4 August , starting at 9.30 am, a meeting entitled "Varroa control: different methods of blocking summer brood" will be held at the pilot farm ValleVecchia of Veneto Agriculture , in the locality of Brussa in Caorle (Ve). The initiative takes place within the European Interreg Italy-Slovenia " Beediversity " project, which sees the regional agency among the promoters.

The meeting, open to beekeepers and bee enthusiasts, will be an opportunity to focus the spotlight not only on good practices useful for correctly controlling the dangerous varroa mite through the " summer brood block ", but also on the important activities that Veneto Agriculture is carrying out in favor of the beekeeping sector .

Among these we remember the regional project which saw the creation of a data collection and monitoring network of the beekeeping sector consisting of a series of electronic hives installed in some locations of all the Veneto provinces with the aim of collecting data and information that converge directly in the " Regional Beekeeping Bulletin " downloadable from the following internet address https://bit.ly/3wRoQaa.

Specifically, the electronic hives have been designed to monitor both the environmental conditions in which the hives are placed, and the health conditions of the bee colonies. One of the first electronic hives envisaged by the Region and Veneto Agriculture project was installed in ValleVecchia.
