Cantine di Verona: the Gran Priorato del Lugana crowns the Lugana Doc 2022 Val dei Molini wine of the year

For the Confraternity of the Gran Priorato del Lugana, the Lugana Doc 2022 Val dei Molini of Cantine di Verona is the Lugana of the year , a wine that will accompany all the events of the association during 2023. The label of the cooperative of the Veronese group, which includes Cantina Valpantena, Cantina di Custoza and Cantina Colli Morenici, was able to win the opinion of the technical jury, made up of 18 oenologists, and of the 60 priors of the Confraternity. The result came after the blind tasting of about sixty samples by the team of oenologists, who selected three wines for each category (Doc Classico for still wines, Method Charmat and Method Classic for sparkling wines). The nine finalist samples were finally tasted by the priors during Vinalia , the annual event of the Gran Priorato del Lugana held in May at the Garda Golf in Soiano (Brescia), during which the three wines of the year were elected. “We are honored – declares Luigi Turco , President of Cantine di Verona – that our Lugana Val dei Molini has been chosen as wine of the year by the Gran Priorato del Lugana. An important recognition that makes our label a true symbol of the Garda area and that recognizes the quality of the work of our members". “ Vinalia – continues the Grand Prior Luca Lazzari – once again this year saw the wineries producing this precious nectar battle it out with products of the highest level, making the designation even more difficult. In the end, in front of the 130 enthusiasts who had the privilege of taking part in the tasting, the Lugana of the year were proclaimed”. The Confraternity of the Gran Priorato del Lugana is an association based in S. Martino della Battaglia di Desenzano del Garda (Brescia) which aims to contribute to the promotion of local and national food and wine and in particular to the dissemination of Lugana wines and the Riviera del Garda, as well as spreading its aims and activities among tour operators and consumers through convivial meetings, sponsoring initiatives, demonstrations and conferences also in collaboration with other organizations that aim to promote the Garda wines and tourism.
