Cantine di Verona: Luigi Turco reconfirmed President

Luigi Turco was reconfirmed President of Cantine di Verona . Elected for the first time in 2009, he remains head of the Veronese wine group born in 2021 from the merger of Cantina Valpantena, Cantina di Custoza and Cantina Colli Morenici. The Shareholders' Meeting, which met on Saturday 17 December, together with the renewal of the offices, approved the cooperative 's financial statements for the year 2021-2022, which closed on 31 August: the consolidated turnover is equal to 65,737,000 euros , in line with that of the previous year. The shareholders' equity of the Veronese group amounts to 29,991,442 euros, confirming a progressive growth compared to previous years. Despite the contribution of grapes has decreased by 32% and despite the uncontrolled increase in costs relating to energy costs and raw materials, the cooperative has managed to liquidate the members about 10% more than in the previous budget. “It was a year characterized by important investments – explains Luigi Turco – first of all the new bottling plant in the Custoza plant , for a value of around 5 million euros, to which will soon be added the purchase of a battery of autoclaves for the sparkling wine and a major investment for two new photovoltaic systems for the Quinto and Custoza sites. These actions will allow us to make a further qualitative leap in the group's technological innovation and in the field of energy saving. The strong commitment to enhancing our main denominations , which include Valpolicella, Custoza and Garda, remains a priority, with the aim of recognizing our contributing members greater income satisfaction for their constant and tiring commitment and to whom we are grateful for their role in the protection of our wonderful territories”. Cantine di Verona today counts on the collaboration of 115 employees , of which 100 on permanent contracts, distributed in the three offices of Quinto, Custoza and Ponti sul Mincio and in the nine points of sale managed by the company. The turnover of the shops is equal to 7,356,000 euros , slightly higher than in 2021, an element of further satisfaction at a time when there is a significant drop in consumption.
