Cantina Vignaioli Morellino di Scansano presents its 2022 balance sheet to its members: exports fly by 60% compared to the previous year . The value of sales abroad in the 2021-2022 financial year was 1,401,512.45 euros, while in the 2020-2021 period it was 872,139.95 euros. The turnover of the cooperative is equal to 14,938,386 euros, up by 8.54% , while in 2021 it was 13,762,638.69 euros. Even the Ho.Re.Ca. reports an excellent performance , scoring 32% on last year, as does the store, which reconfirms itself as a reference point for purchases and food and wine experiences, with 4.54% of receipt sales and 4.45% of tastings drive. The excellent results partly depend on the recovery recorded after the pandemic-related restrictions of both the Ho.Re.Ca. both from exports, but above all from the efforts aimed at enhancing production : the cooperative has continued to invest in the image of a winery dedicated to quality in order to support prices in line with the offer. Precisely thanks to the commitment and attention shown by the company, it was possible to increase the margins of the products and therefore recognize the members a higher salary for their work. “A year ago – explains Benedetto Grechi , President of Cantina Vignaioli Morellino di Scansano – we gave a mandate to the Director to increase the margins to better compensate the members, given the great commitment and the many sacrifices we ask them to produce quality grapes. The way the work has been set up, with actions aimed at enhancing our products in terms of price, has allowed us to achieve the goal. Unfortunately the world situation that we all know, between uncertainties and rising costs of raw materials and energy resources, has largely eroded the major revenues. In any case, we are happy to have closed the financial statements with an increase, albeit limited, in the compensation paid to shareholders". “I would like to thank the employees, as well as the partners – continues the Director of the Cantina Sergio Bucci – for the commitment shown in their work, which has made it possible to obtain excellent results in guide reviews and consumer preferences. Thanks also to the sales network which was indispensable in obtaining this result”. The growth in the winery's turnover is also due to the investments made to further increase the sustainability of production: the PEF and VIVA Sustainable Wine environmental certifications have been renewed, while the monitoring of some of the main electricity consumption points continues through the SCADA software to better manage and reduce energy waste.
