Cantina Tollo is increasingly international : the export share of the Teatro company based in Tollo will grow by 18.4% in 2023, especially in Russia, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands and France. The data was made known during the presentation of the 2022-2023 financial year to members , held on Sunday 17 December at the CiakCity Polycenter in Rocca San Giovanni (CH). In addition to the share of exports, the value of organic wine also continues to grow , recording an increase of 6% compared to 2022 and representing, to date, 7% of total production. In general, Cantina Tollo's turnover is equal to 49.9 million euros, substantially confirming itself in line with that of 2022. “Our wines – declares Luciano Gagliardi , President of Cantina Tollo – tell the beauty and traditions of the Abruzzo lands beyond national borders, enclosing its charm in the glass. The increase in the export share is clear proof of this, as are the recognitions obtained from international critics in prestigious publications such as James Suckling , Falstaff and Vinous ”. During the meeting with the members, the second sustainability report of Cantina Tollo was also presented, a tool which aims to measure performance in terms of environmental, economic and social sustainability. With this in mind, the Code of Ethics was therefore adopted, which regulates many aspects of corporate life and introduces new individual and collective rules of conduct, with the aim of defining quality and competitiveness by supporting their development over time.
Cantina Tollo is today among the most important and consolidated companies in the Italian wine sector. It markets 18 million bottles a year, boasts around 620 members and 2,500 hectares cultivated in an area that has always been suited to wine production. The vineyards of Cantina Tollo extend from the coastal hills to the slopes of the Maiella, in a typically Mediterranean climate, characterized by notable temperature variations. Production is concentrated on the typical and native vines of the area (Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Passerina, Maiolica and Cococciola), traditionally grown under pergolas, with a strong vocation for experimentation in the field and in the cellar. Cantina Tollo's bottles are distributed in all Italian regions, in almost all European Union countries, in particular Germany, the Netherlands, France, Denmark and the United Kingdom and, overseas, in Japan, the United States and Canada. Cantina Tollo is also present in the markets of Russia, India and China.
