Cantina Settecani has closed a harvest of the highest quality

The harvest also ends in the lands of Grasparossa , lands cultivated in particular by the 200 farmers who belong to the Settecani Winery , active since 1923 in the hamlet on the border of the Modena localities of Castelvetro, Castelnuovo Rangone and Spilamberto. 350 hectares of vineyards which, thanks to the quality of their grapes, suggest a very high level vintage.

The optimal climatic conditions favored an increase in production compared to the 2019 harvest, even on the hills where the harvest is generally less relevant. We are therefore preparing to meet the needs of a market which, even at the time of the Covid 19 pandemic, is proving to be increasingly attentive and demanding, in Italy as well as abroad.

"The period of growth and ripening of the grapes was characterized by a more than positive season in all respects - explains Paolo Martinelli , president of Cantina Settecani - with regular rains and temperatures and a good temperature range; these optimal climatic conditions have allowed a an important harvest from a quantitative point of view, with a regular and good quality development of the bunch. The grapes conferred were healthy, also due to the careful management by our producers and, from the first analytical findings, a good relationship between acidity and sugar content and good phenolic maturity. In any case, the quality is very satisfactory ", concludes the president.

A quality that is confirmed in the processing of finished products and which is leading the wines of the Settecani Winery to achieve increasingly prestigious and important results. Among others, in recent days, Wine Enthusiast - one of the most influential American magazines dedicated to wine - awarded the Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOP "Vini del Re" with 91 points , a wine that it also received from the editors of the sector, among the most important on the international scene, the recognition of "Editor's Choice" , or product to recommend. In particular, the Italian Editor Kerin O'Keefe reviewed: " The aromas of blackberry and blueberry are transmitted to the palate, together with the dry and savory graphite and a hint of star anise before an almond finish. Its lively acidity makes it clear. it keeps fresh, while the fine-grained tannins give structure and more finesse than is typical of the variety " .
