Brunello, Chianti, Chianti Classico, Sagrantino... fake wines seized

30,000 bottles of fake wine in bulk destined to go on international markets at 10 times higher prices have been seized


Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti and other DOCG (Sagrantino, Chianti Classico ...) fake and of poor quality have been seized by the Carabinieri of the operating department of Siena: the operation is still ongoing in Tuscany and in other regions of the Centre–North.

Dozens of search, implemented with the help of the Nas of Florence, the territorial command of the Carabinieri Corps and the Central Inspectorate of the Protection of Quality.

This fraud is causing harm to the Italian wine sector calculated in hundreds of thousands of euro, many are the suspects but there is no involvement on the part of producers of Brunello di Montalcino and the Montalcino companies that, indeed, may be the injured party.
