Beers at the Castle in Corigliano d'Otranto

From Thursday 17th to Saturday 19th August ( from 7pm – admission 5 euros with silk-screened bag and glass - info 3273024778 ) the Castello Volante in Corigliano d'Otranto hosts the third edition of "Beers at the Castle ". Conceived by the Bluebeat Pub of Lecce and organized in collaboration with CoolClub , Sei Festival and Core a Core - Castello Volante , the festival offers three evenings of music, meetings, tastings, guided tours, a market, quality street food and the participation of a twenty Apulian and Italian breweries with over one hundred craft beers to be savored thanks to about sixty taps scattered between the moat and the terraces of the ancient manor house of the Salento municipality. At the counters will be the breweries Bastian Contrario of Parma, Birranova of Triggianello (Bari), Birrificio del Vulture of Rionero (Potenza), Extraomnes of Marnate (Varese), Hilltop of Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza), MC77 of Serrapetrona (Macerata), Officine Birrai of Lecce, Okorei of Naples. Curated by the Tabir brewery from Taranto, there will also be a selection of Apulian and Lucanian breweries - Baff from Lecce, Birra del Gargan or from Peschici (Foggia), Delta Esse from Andria, Lieviteria from Castellana Grotte (Bari), Milvus from Avigliano (Potenza), wham! of Poggiorsini (Bari) and Rebeers of Foggia. New this year, a stand entirely dedicated to craft beers from Belgium , between great classics and modern interpretations of more and less known styles. Finally, the Bluebeat Corner will offer a selection of favorite producers. Over the three evenings, a larger and richer food area than the previous editions will give the opportunity to appreciate hamburgers and pulled pork , bombettes and meatballs , parmesan and pieces , chips and fries , up to homemade ice cream and fresh fruit . And on the terrace will also be available the cuisine of " Nuvole" , cocktail bar and bistro of the Flying Castle led by chefs Andrea Mazzola and Diletta Bagordo . There will be a market with products from local companies on display. The program of meetings, tastings, DJ sets and live performances on the various terraces of the Castle is varied and interesting. Thursday we start at 2 0 with a magic and juggling show that will make girls and boys happy with Robertino Magic Sciò . At 20:30 the meeting with tasting of apple and pear ciders and an aperitif at Nuvole. We will discuss the origins of cider and its producers with Fabio Manuali of Pour Roma , the brewer Angelo "Jarrett" Ruggiero ( co-author with Francesco Antonelli of "Making beer at home - Complete guide for third millennium homebrewers") and Andrea Lamarina of Bluebeat Pub. From 9 pm there will also be space for music with the concert of the Zest trio and the selections of Kika and Dubin , dj and producer of the Salento duo Insintesi and organizer of the Tropical Party Salento, a promoter of low-frequency music for twenty-five years. On Friday at 20 the beer sommelier Niccolò Querci will present the book " Brussels: the capital of beer ". Brewing tourism is a real cultural experience, on a par with the most renowned food and wine tours. The guide accompanies the reader to discover the 18 city breweries, suggesting routes in the various areas of the Belgian capital with a selection of the best places to drink craft beer with maps and directions on how to reach them. Following the concert of the singer, guitarist and composer Tobia Lamare who with his band will present, among other songs, the new single " Candies ", released for Lobello Records about four years after the previous album "Songs for the present time ”. In closing, the DJ sets by Max Nocco , a versatile artist who has always been active in the underground scene and a tireless vinyl collector, and Vivaz , a Salento deejay and producer with a thirty-year career behind him. Saturday at 20 an unprecedented guided tour with tasting (in collaboration with the Sulle Vie della Birra association and the Infopoint of the Castle) in the company of Aristodemo Pellegrino to discover the history of the fortress and the production of beer. At 2 1 on the Nuvole terrace a three-course dinner paired with as many beers from Extraomnes with Luigi D'Amelio aka Schigi , soul and heart of the historic Lombard brewery. Finally, from 20:30 , DJ Saimon will take turns with the live set of Monoi Poke and, to close with a dance, the selections of Lonoce . During Birre al Castello the “ Visioni del Sud ” exhibition itinerary will be open with, among others, the exhibitions “La Candelora a Montevergine” by Alessandro Gattuso, “Queer è Ora” by Alessia Rollo curated by Transparent, 73100 Gaya and Big Sur and 'RestartRestanze' by Maurizio Fiorino. The Castello Volante project - winner of the call for the adaptation of tourist attractions to accommodate live entertainment activities in the Puglia Region - has been managed since 2017 by Multiservice Eco , Big Sur and Coolclub in collaboration with the Municipality of Corigliano d'Otranto .
