Wineries open also for people with disabilities: this is the aim of "Barrier–Free Wineries", the project that will be presented on Saturday, 9th May, in Conegliano Veneto ("Giovanni Battista Cerletti" Wine School from 10:00 a.m.) by the Cities of Wine Association.
For the time being, in a sample of one hundred companies, 20% was found to have a "good accessibility", 30% a "medium accessibility" and more than 40% a "reduced accessibility".
The ultimate goal of "Barrier–Free Wineries" is to get to have a certification of the accessible wineries and to have established the criteria to make them so: the presence of elevators, the presence of large areas of mobility; good signage explaining the production process in the presence of sensitive to these issues operators.
