Dante Bonacina, 55 years old , of which over 25 spent in the wine sector, is the new CEO of Baglio di Pianetto , the Sicilian winery of the Marzotto family founded in 1997 in Santa Cristina Gela.

The company was founded with the aim of standing out for research and excellence, and has always invested in people and their "know-how". For this reason, the choice fell on a man who over the course of his career has shown that he believes in people, but above all that he knows how to put their needs at the centre, which is why, in 2017, he received the recognition of Slow Boss, dedicated to executives able to listen and create “ slow ” leadership models.

At the helm of Ca' del Bosco for over 25 years and after having made it one of the most virtuous companies in Franciacorta, Dante Bonacina arrives at the helm of Baglio di Pianetto, succeeding Francesco Tiralongo, who suddenly passed away last March.

“ Count Paolo was a pioneer in investing in a surprising territory, when it comes to mountain viticulture in Sicily in fact, many think exclusively of Etna, but here in Santa Cristina Gela, 20 minutes from Palermo and 650 meters above altitude, the Count has discovered a unique and particularly suitable terroir. I gladly accepted the invitation of the heirs, who today carry on his project with dedication and enthusiasm”.

Referring then to his first initiatives as new Chief Executive Officer, Bonacina specified:

“ Baglio di Pianetto will not be the copy of Ca' del Bosco, the rationalization of the product portfolio will certainly be a priority. We have to focus on the identity wines of the company, the goal is to go back to making Chateau wines , returning to the dream of Count Paolo, a challenge now taken up by his daughter Dominique Marzotto and his nephew Gregoire Desforges. ”

With reference to the owners and the team that welcomed him into the company, he said: “Once again, I have the privilege of working and interacting with the young talents of the wine world who share with me a business model dedicated to excellence, for my part I will offer experience and curiosity, rigor and creativity, but above all a space, not just physical, where you can express yourself freely without the fear of being judged ".
