At Il Vittoriano the Sicily of wine towards Expo 2015

Sicily opens a series of meetings of the Regions at Il Vittoriano within the context of the event “Towards 2015, the culture of wine in Italy”.

“We rehearse for Expo Milano 2015, an important event dedicated to the territory where Sicily presents itself as described by the writer Comiso Gesualdo Bufalino: it is one, but there are many”. The Sicilian regional councilor Dario Cartabellotta said: “To confirm the peculiar richness of our differentiated wine offer we open the season of the territories, businessmen and many businesswomen, who have invested a lot on the quality of the territories, and they will talk about this: Diego Planeta for the “Terre Sicane”, Antonio Rallo (Donnafugata), chairman of Doc Sicily and for Marsala, Gaetana Iacono (Valle dell'Acate) for Cerasuolo; Mariangela Cambria and Margherita Platania for Etna, Francesca Curto for Nero d'Avola, Enza La Fauci for Messinese. In a few days – Cartabellotta stated – there will be a new announcement for the last 50 thousand euro of contributions for the redevelopment of the viticultural landscape”.

Expo Milano 2015, the undersecretary for Agriculture Giuseppe Castiglione concluded, “is a great opportunity for the whole country. Sicily collects now the fruits of 30 years of growth in the wine world, now most of those difficult choices, such as the viticulture on the Etna, are reality. An applaud is deserved by those Sicilian entrepreneurs who were able to believe and invest in agricultural and environmental quality”.
