The President of the Asolo Prosecco Consortium and of the Consorzio Vini del Montello Ugo Zamperon i expresses great satisfaction for the recognition obtained today by the territory of Monte Grappa , included in the UNESCO List of MAB (Man and Biosphere) Biosphere Reserves by the Intergovernmental Council of UNESCO. “This is a historic result for our territory - declares Zamperoni - a recognition that rewards environmental biodiversity and the value of the work of man , who has inhabited and protected these lands for centuries. Many municipalities included in our denominations are part of the territory awarded today by UNESCO, an unequivocal sign of the value of the historical and cultural heritage of Asolo and Montello, which also includes the wines that are born in these hills ". Monte Grappa is the 20th MAB / UNESCO Italian Biosphere Reserve and for the evaluators it represents a "bio-ecological bridge" between the Po Valley and the south-eastern Alps, a point of union-division and, therefore, of balance and exchange between climates, ecosystems, cultures and economies.
