ANICAV MEETING WITH THE COUNCILOR ALESSIO MAMMI OF THE EMILIA ROMAGNA REGION

The Councilor for Agriculture and Agri-food, Hunting and Fishing of the Emilia Romagna Region, Alessio Mammi, today met the representatives of the OI tomato from Industria Bacino Nord Italia and visited the production plant of the Mutti company in Traversetolo - Montechiarugolo (PR), a leading company in Italy in the production of tomato derivatives.

Tomatoes represent a strategic sector for the agro-industry of Emilia Romagna: in the 22 factories present in the region, about 80% of all processed products in the Northern Basin are produced and 50% of the Italian production of derivatives with a turnover of 1 , 5 billion euros (50% of the national turnover of the sector).

Industries are working hard to transform every possible tomato in full compliance with contractual conditions and the supply chain is showing great compactness and a strong spirit of collaboration.
