On the last day of the 2015 edition of Vinitaly the new Chairman of Italia del Vino – Consorzio was elected. Andrea Sartori had already been Chairman of Unione Italiana Vini, Simei and Agivi, and has been chosen as a leader of the important private consortium which includes, since 2009, twelve of the most important companies in the Italian wine sector, present on all world markets.
«I am proud – Chairman Andrea Sartori says – of this responsible position at the helm of a reality that for years has been ambassador of Italian wine in the world. My goal will be to develop even further this project, putting into the field new initiatives especially in view of the Expo but also continuing with what had already been started by my predecessor Ettore Nicoletto, who I thank on behalf of everyone for the great effort and work done in these years for Italia del Vino – Consorzio».
«Our project aims to conquer foreign markets – Sartori is keen to declare – and to do this we believe it is necessary for Italian wine to go beyond individualism. In Bordeaux we will present ourselves as a collective because we believe that a system action and teamwork are winning to enhance Italian wine in the world and to increase its value in terms of quality and style».
