Andrea Pennacchi and gIANMARIA the Basilica Palladiana Award 2023

The 59th Basilica Palladiana Prize and the 3rd Basilica Palladiana Young Emerging Prize will be awarded respectively to Andrea Pennacchi and Gianmaria Volpato, aka gIANMARIA . The awards will be delivered on Thursday 8 June at Villa Sesso Schiavo in Sandrigo (Vicenza) by Antonio Chemello , president of the Pro Loco Sandrigo , the promoter of the event. The event enjoys the patronage of the Veneto Region, UNPLI Vicenza and the Municipality of Sandrigo. The evening, by invitation, is reserved for members of the Pro Loco of Sandrigo. “The Basilica Palladiana Award was created to reward illustrious Venetian personalities who have been able to establish themselves nationally and internationally while keeping alive the link with their homeland – declares Antonio Chemello -. Since 2021 we have also established the Basilica Palladiana Young Emerging Award dedicated to new talent. It is an honor and a pleasure for me to present these awards to Andrea Pennacchi and gIANMARIA, two artists who in different ways and with different languages contribute to spreading culture in our country”. Andrea Pennacchi , born in 1969, is an actor, playwright and theater director. In recent years he has also become a television face as a regular guest on Propaganda Live (La7) and thanks to his participation in numerous television series such as Petra for Sky and Everything asks for salvation for Netflix, as well as in several films, including Io sono Li , Welcome Venice , The Chair of Happiness and Suburra . He has also published some books: Pojana and his brothers , The war of the Bepi , The infinite story of Pojanistan (People, 2020 and 2021) and the recent Shakespeare and me (People, 2022). His many plays include Heroes , My Father -- Notes on the Civil War and A Little Odyssey . The singer-songwriter and rapper from Vicenza gIANMARIA , born in 2002, ranked second in the 15th edition of X Factor, during which he presented the unreleased I suicidi . In December 2022 he won Sanremo Giovani, thus participating by right in the 73rd Sanremo Festival with the song Monster . Since the beginning of his career he has released two albums with the Epic Records label, Fallirò (2022) - promoted with the Fallirò tour 2022 - and Monster (2023).
