The designer Alberto Alessi has its own selection of Design wines
In the world of the Italian design, Alessi is one of the best–known names, and now makes its debut in the world of wine, with a range of three wines: a Chardonnay, a Pinot Noir and a sweet wine.
The wines are produced on the shores of Lake Orta. The bottles is inspired by a drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci: their name is "Leo" and are reminiscent of a laboratory "volumetric flask".
The bottles are all numbered, and engraved on the bottom have a motif inspired by the "knots" of Da Vinci.
The labels are designed by the famous Spanish artist Marti Guixé.
The bottle of design is «a response to an ethical problem, that of disposal: to me – Alessi told to "The Drinks Business" – it is always a shame when an object has no chance of living longer, it is as if it loses its dignity: for these bottles it is different, because finished wine they may become jugs, vases, candlesticks».
