Aldo Conterno: the star of Barolo has passed away

Aldo Conterno passed away the other night.

Conterno, in his 82 years of life, has truly deserved the title of great in the vineyard and in life.
It was he who signed excellent Barolos. He is a simple and practical Langa farmer who also had his adventures overseas, returned to Italy in 1961 and dedicated himself to cultivating the family vineyards with his brother.

He put in place the large manor house towards Monforte, bought the vineyards, and set up the cellar.
Years of investments and scacrifices, but his labels have really gone around the world carrying the name of his vineyards: Gran Bussia, Cicala, Colonello.
