AIS Veneto: courses for beer Sommeliers are underway

Tasting beer by identifying its peculiar characteristics, learning about food pairing techniques, training experts and professionals in a world, the brewing world, which is increasingly expanding: this is the aim of the new AIS Veneto courses dedicated to beer Sommeliers , an absolute novelty. of the Association that for years has been involved in training professionals in the world of wine and promoting its culture. There are two routes starting in October , in Treviso and Vicenza , each consisting of two levels . In the eleven lessons of the first level, various topics will be addressed, including the techniques of tasting and evaluating a beer, the recognition of its possible defects and their origin, the deepening of the relationship between sensory analysis and raw materials, learning through a trip to the main countries with a brewing vocation, the knowledge of traditional styles and types of recent identification. The second level, on the other hand, will focus on deepening the tasting technique and service, as well as on table pairings. During the lessons, four beers will be tasted, chosen by the speakers on the basis of adherence to the styles illustrated during the meetings. There are also two appointments exclusively dedicated to tasting and a visit to a brewery. The lessons will take place both face to face and online, each member will be sent home the teaching material, which includes the text, a case with four tasting glasses and, in addition, an exclusive set with four Spiegelau glasses. The whole is completed by a kit with twelve samples of aromas designed to develop the olfactory memory and recognize the scents of beer. The lecturers of the courses will be Marco Visentin, didactic referent of Ais Veneto, Christian Laiti, Knight Togato of the Italian Embassy Confrerie Sossons d'Orvaulx , Luca Grezzani and Marco Comunian. The Treviso Beer Sommelier course starts on Thursday 21 October at 8.30 pm, at the Hotel Maggior Consiglio, while the Vicenza course will begin on Tuesday 12 October, again at 20.30, at the Hotel Viest.
