BECOMING A SOMMELIER IS EASY The Italian Sommelier Association, present throughout the country, aims to qualify the professional figure of the Sommelier and to enhance the culture of wine, carrying out educational and editorial activities to spread knowledge and appreciation. of wines and other alcoholic beverages. The "Professional qualification course for aspiring sommeliers", also aimed at enthusiasts, is structured in three levels: 1st level: you enter the fascinating world of wine through "Enology" and " Viticulture ", you learn the" Tasting Technique "as well as the" Functions of the Sommelier "from the style of the service to the organization of the cellar, from the choice of the glass to the respect of the right serving temperature. 2nd level: the realities of National and International Enography, the geography of wine from Italy and the world for a total immersion in sensory analysis. 3rd level: deals with the "Methodology of food-wine pairing" and through the tasting of the different types of wine and multiple preparations of dishes, the path to reach the qualification of Sommelier is completed. At the end of the third level there is a final exam; the test is divided into two days and aims at verifying the cultural and technical-practical preparation of the aspiring Sommelier. Candidates who pass the final exam receive the Sommelier Diploma. Attendance to the lessons is compulsory; A maximum of two absences are tolerated for each level of the course.
