The idea of evolving the oenological approach to the white wines of the Myò-Vigneti di Spessa line had lingered for years in Zorzettig Vini , in particular the intention of presenting the whites after a prolonged aging , no more than one but two years. In November 2018 , the beginning of the agrarian vintage for the 2019 wines, Annalisa Zorzettig and her collaborators, immersed in the countryside, observe the vines and decide that the moment is propitious for change. In 2020 the Azienda di Cividale del Friuli (Udine) will not present to the market, and consequently to the guides, the 2019 vintage of the white wines of the Myò-Vigneti di Spessa selection , leaving them the right time to express themselves, therefore postponing their output to 2021 . If the 2019 vintage waits, it will be a blend of the 2018 vintage to represent the white face of Zorzettig in the 2020 guides. The new wine from the Myò-Vigneti di Spessa selection is called I fiori di Leonie . Dedicated to her granddaughter, Annalisa is described with these words: "A frank, sapid, clean, fresh and sincere wine like the force of nature, the purity and vitality of Leonie which is the future, the sustainable future". To characterize the label, a cherry blossom protected inside the glass which represents the Company's continuous commitment to protect the territory with an eye to biodiversity, indispensable for the ecosystem and for the goodness of the wine. " Leonie's flowers is in line with the initiatives and the growing attention that the winery reserves for the environment - continues Annalisa Zorzettig - We do not simply produce wine but we create a cultural heritage and values to be handed down to the generations to come, with great sense of responsibility, starting from the choices in the vineyard ". The Friuli Colli Orientali DOC is a blend of Pinot Blanc , Friuli and Sauvignon grapes from the Vigneti di Spessa cru . The three dedicated vineyards are double-inverted, a system that offers limited and particularly expressive yields of the varieties and the territory. The harvest is done strictly by hand with a careful selection of the best bunches. After the soft pressing, a 12-hour cold maceration is started to extract the best aromatic kit and obtain freshness. Fermentations in steel tanks, separated for each variety, are followed by aging with weekly battonage for six months in steel. After the assembly of the three wines and the aging in small wood for another six months, they are bottled.
