Wine&Thecity is towards its eighth edition. We start from the crowdfunding campaign. The goal is the promotion of the project in the country and internationally.
NAPLES – From 6th to 20th May Wine&Thecity returns to Naples, the extra–exhibition of wine conceived in 2008 and that over the years has become the most original and lively festival of city creativity. In its eighth edition, Wine&Thecity is renewed and thinks big: a new image, a new website and new projects starting from the crowdfunding that started on 23rd January on the KissKissBankBank international platform.
The 2015 edition falls in the agenda of special events of NAPOLIperEXPò and aims to the internationalization of the exhibition and a series of actions to promote incoming tourism in the city.
"Vivi l’#ebbrezza di Napoli, la città più irrazionale che esiste" ("Live the thrill of Naples, the most irrational city") is the slogan of the event.
#ebbrezza (thrill) is the key word of 2015, thrill of discovery, of going out, of art, of words, of travelling.
For the 2015 edition the time frame of the event is extended, which will cover 15 days, from 6th to 20th May, including "OFF events" and "circuit on the road". The geographical space and the number of sites involved is expanded, too: from underground to the sea, from the metropolitan vineyards to the shopping streets. Historical buildings and museums, private houses, artists’ studios, hotels, shops and art galleries and design, restaurants and pizzerias. The cultural offer of art performance, flash mob, theater, city tours, travelling tastings is enriched.
Wine&Thecity is now a great opportunity for the city, an occasion in which creative energies combine to give rise to two weeks of events where art, fashion, shopping, gastronomy, design meet in a continuous and stimulating dialogue. Different skills, excellences, artistic expressions are staged in many styles.
The 2015 image, designed by Marialuisa Firpo, graphic designer, member of AIAP (Associazione italiana Design della Comunicazione Visiva) and member of Beda (Bureau of European Designers’ Associations), wants to tell the complexity, the diversity, the game and the contamination of the exhibition which over the years has been enriched by numerous artistic and creative contributions, as Maria Luisa Firpo explains.
Wine&Thecity is the brainchild of Donatella Bernabò Silorata and sees the work of an all–female team. It is a moveable feast, a scattered and in motion event, a review of urban creativity that reinvents itself every year. It is a collective action that get creative minds together and puts the city of Naples in motion. Actions of public art, exhibition, performances, appetizers, dinners and tastings in private homes, theater in unconventional spaces, unusual city itineraries, exhibitions of photography and design, musical happenings, invade and enliven the city for two weeks in May. Contamination, nomadism, conviviality enrich the event.
