INYCON 2026, THE 28TH EDITION IN MENFI MEETS YOUNG PEOPLE AND LOOKS TO THE FUTURE

Menfi is preparing to host the 28th edition of Inycon , scheduled for October 2-4, 2026 , one of the longest-running and most representative events dedicated to wine culture in Sicily. Sponsored by the Municipality of Menfi , the Inycon Foundation , and organized by Futuris , the event returns with a theme that looks to the future without forgetting its roots: "Discovering to tell - Territory, youth, and the future . "

For three days, the historic center of Menfi becomes a vast stage where wine, culture, gastronomy, landscape, education, and entertainment showcase the identity of the Terre Sicane, a region where wine is part of its history thanks to the work of Cantine Settesoli , Planeta , and other smaller but no less iconic wineries like Cantine Barbera . The 2026 edition focuses on change and new generations, with talks and meetings dedicated to young people, education, and opportunities: " Inycon is the most important event for promoting our city and its identity. Since 1996, it has showcased the connection between Menfi, wine, agriculture, the sea, and hospitality ," says Menfi's Mayor, Vito Antonio Clemente . " This year, we've chosen to focus on the future, looking to new generations and creating opportunities for discussion on the issues that are transforming wine and tourism. Menfi aims to continue to be a laboratory of ideas, capable of valorizing its roots while looking to future challenges ."

Among the events dedicated to young people, the opening talk " Talent isn't created, it's cultivated " stands out. It's scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at the Municipal Library , hosted by I TS Academy Sicani : a moment of discussion on training, talent, and professional opportunities for the new generations in the area. In the evening, the talk " Generation Z and wine consumption: How the way of drinking, describing, and experiencing wine is changing " will take place on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III, the heart of the festival. There will also be ample space for masterclasses and tastings curated by SISTEMA Vino , which will take the public on a journey through the Menfi DOC , the Terre Sicane, and trends in the contemporary wine scene. Alongside wine, olive oil takes center stage with meetings, visits to oil mills, exhibition spaces, the "EVO & FUN" quiz with Giusy Buscemi , and a talk on the Olive Oil Community and olive oil tourism . This Friday, October 2nd, at 8:30 PM in the square, as part of "Sicilia che Piace" (Sicily Liked). Cooking demonstrations showcase Sicilian seafood excellence and agri-food products, thanks to the Regional Department of Mediterranean Fisheries (PN FEAMPA 2021–2027) and the Regional Department of Agriculture. Content creator Martina Maggiordomo will host the events, while from the square, the voice of Tinto from Rai Radio2 – Decanter will accompany guests and foodies.

There's no shortage of experiences dedicated to the local area, initiatives on the environment and sustainability, urban itineraries, and cultural events, in a narrative that highlights Menfi and the Terre Sicane: "The theme ' Discovering to Tell – Territory, Youth, and Future' sums up the mission of Inycon 2026 ," explains Francesca Planeta , President of the Inycon Foundation. " To build the future of the area, we must first understand it: its history, its culture, its values. Our identity is the pride of what the generations that preceded us have built, a heritage to be enhanced, not changed, simply by updating the language with which we describe it. This is why we place training and talent at the heart of the program, starting with the talk 'Talent is Not Created, It's Cultivated', hosted by ITS Academy Sicani, dedicated to the food and wine training programs that take place throughout the year. Talent must be supported and nurtured to become a real possibility even in Menfi, which is experiencing continuous development in the quality of its territory and tourism offerings ."

A program designed for enthusiasts, professionals, and new consumers: " The 2026 edition of Inycon was created to showcase a region that has built its growth on the quality of its agricultural and wine production ," emphasizes Franco Gagliano , Councilor for Agriculture for the Municipality of Menfi. " Through tastings, cooking demonstrations, and in-depth discussions, we want to showcase the sector's opportunities, from sustainability to the role of young people, from innovation to promoting the region, making Inycon a meeting place for the entire community ."

The program also includes evening shows and musical events, designed for a younger audience as well, organized with the support of the Regional Department of Tourism, Sport, and Entertainment and the Free Municipal Consortium of Agrigento. Among the most anticipated events are " InyconNight ," a DJ set with Jazz Becker & Tommy Vee, on Saturday, October 3rd, and the closing show, " IN LIMINE " by Giusy Di Blasi, followed by a musical fireworks display.

With nearly thirty years of history, Inycon confirms its ability to interpret the present, maintaining a strong connection to the wine culture that has made Menfi a national wine tourism hub. This edition invests in young people, in knowledge, and in the ability to showcase a region that is building its future on the strength of its identity.

In addition to the events in the city, it will be possible to participate in visits and tastings in wineries and oil mills , by reservation at the participating companies.

Every day, the Village of Typical Products with excellent food and wine products, the Wine Bar in collaboration with the Regional Institute of Wine and Oil (IRVO), the Expo Village, the Street Food area, and exhibitions and displays.
