DoloViniMiti: A Journey Through the Verticality of the Cembra and Fiemme Valleys

  • 17/09/2025

BETWEEN HEROIC WINES, LANDSCAPES AND CULTURE

From October 9th to 12th, the Cembra and Fiemme valleys will once again take center stage with the third edition of Dolo-Vini-Miti , the festival celebrating vertical wines and heroic viticulture as an expression of the Dolomites' identity, while also promoting opportunities for slow and authentic tourism, off the beaten track . It does so with a rich calendar of experiences that intertwines conferences, masterclasses, treks, and shows .

Walking and experiencing the area firsthand ,” explained Vera Rossi, president of the Valle di Cembra Tourist Association, which, together with ApT Fiemme e Cembra, is organizing the event, at a press conference, “ is certainly the most effective way to convey what lies inside every glass, that is, the hard work and commitment that producers have put in for generations to create great wines in such an impervious and difficult territory .”

The opening event , on Thursday, October 9th , will be the round table discussion " The Values of Heroic Viticulture: Where the Vine Challenges the Mountain ," hosted at the Cembra Oratory and hosted by sommelier and radio and television presenter Andrea Amadei . This will be a moment of dialogue between producers from iconic territories ideally close to the Cembra Valley who share a common denominator: the passion and resilience required to cultivate vines in extreme contexts, custodians of a heritage enriched by shared meanings. Guests for the evening include Nicolas Bovard of Cave Mont Blanc, Valle d'Aosta ; Isabella Pellizzatti Perego of ARPEPE, Valtellina ; Giacomo Cappellini of Cantina Forlini Cappellini, Cinque Terre ; Markus Prackwieser of Weingut Gump, Alto Adige ; and Nicola Zanotelli of Zanotelli Wines, Val di Cembra . Joining them on stage will be Walter Webber, CERVIM Trentino Alto Adige delegate .

The following day, Friday, October 10 , the event kicks off with a vertical trek through the Faver area among the dry stone walls , followed by a tasting with local producers. The afternoon will be dedicated to the masterclass "Extreme Sours of Heroic Lands" at Corvée, which brings together the heroic viticulture areas featured in the opening conference thanks to the expertise of taster and wine communicator Francesco Saverio Russo , one of Italy's most authoritative wine bloggers. The day will conclude with music and multisensory experiences with the mozARTWINExperience , a new production by Miscele d'Aria Factory , offering an immersive performance combining wine, Mozart, and contemporary influences at Villa Corniole.

On Saturday, October 11th, the day kicks off at Palazzo Maffei with " Breakfast with the Author ," an intimate moment exploring literature and rural traditions with Michael Moser , author of the novel "Vite nei campi." It then moves on to one of the most anticipated events of the festival, the Wine Trekking Gourmet . A five-kilometer trek through the Cembra vineyards in their enchanting autumnal splendor, punctuated by gourmet stops curated by local chefs guided by the creative flair of Michelin-starred chef Alessandro Gilmozzi , for a journey that combines walking, taste, and scenery.

In the late afternoon, at the Cembra mountain winery, sommeliers Fabio Gobbi and Francesco Bonomi will lead the interactive masterclass "Vigna Veritas," a new and engaging format they created. This involves a blind tasting where the glasses are asked to tell their story without the filter of labels, and participants are asked to share their impressions in real time via smartphone, commenting together thanks to cloud-based tools and graphs automatically generated from the responses. The protagonists are blends of white wines and bold local single-varietals.

The evening's finale also aims to surprise with an original and unconventional offering: " Spirits on Stage ": a dinner show among the stills of the Pilzer Distillery, interspersed with theatrical sketches that recount "with the right spirit" the fascinating world of grappa, from the distillers' gestures and production stages to the stories of those who have preserved this knowledge in the Cembra Valley for generations. In collaboration with the Trentino Grappa Protection Institute, " Grappa ," explains President Alessandro Marzadro , " is doubly linked to Trentino and even more so to the Cembra Valley, where many families have a history tied to this spirit. It's important to be able to promote it in a distinctive and original way through events that go beyond the glass to leave an indelible mark on those who experience them ."

A mountain-flavored finale on Sunday, October 12th with the Dolo-Vini-Mitico Trekking at the Lavazè Pass : a guided hike admiring the Pala di Santa, Latemar, Catinaccio, and Sciliar mountains, with a final stop at Malga Varena to taste the authentic flavors of cured meats and cheeses from the social dairies of Fiemme, Predazzo, and Moena, paired with the fragrant wines of the Cembra Valley.
