The Nizza Producers Association and the Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato Wines Consortium are pleased to announce the dates of the 12th edition of what represents the food and wine itinerary par excellence to discover the wineries producing Nizza DOCG. In fact, the key days of the " Giro Nizza " will be held on Sunday 21 and 28 April , an event that embodies the essence of food and wine passion, organized by the Slow Food Convivium of Alessandria and Colline Nicesi together with the Regional Enoteca of Nizza Monferrato and strongly supported by Producers Association of Nizza, the Consortium of Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato, the city of Nizza Monferrato and the Chamber of Commerce of Alessandria and Asti. The event will be officially presented during the press conference to be held on Saturday 13 April at 11.00 in the municipal hall of Nizza Monferrato in via Piazza Martiri d'Alessandria 19, 14049 Nizza Monferrato (AT), in which it will also be possible to participate online by connecting to the link at the bottom. “ This is an event that celebrates one of the most iconic denominations of our territory – say the Presidents Stefano Chiarlo and Vitaliano Maccarionamely that of Nizza DOCG, an excellent wine produced in the heart of Piedmont, in an area that embraces 18 municipalities around in Nizza Monferrato. The event offers an itinerary among the splendid UNESCO hills, offering the opportunity to visit cellars and vineyards. The producers will be happy to guide visitors to discover the secrets of Nizza and Nizza Riserva DOCG, in an atmosphere of sharing and in-depth knowledge of the territory and its excellence .” Due to growing interest, this twelfth edition is split into two dates, thus creating a double event for lovers of good wine: the Giro Nice #odd on 21 April and the Giro Nice #even on 28 April. “This choice – explain the organizers – reflects the desire to welcome a greater number of visitors and to make the most of the participation of producers.” The event in fact opens the doors to 43 realities, including 41 producers of Nizza DOCG, the Berta Distilleries, famous for their grappa obtained from Nizza DOCG pomace, and Canellese, known for its Vermouth di Torino Superiore IG based Nizza Docg. Each participant will be able to explore the chosen wineries, at their own pace and following personalized itineraries, immersing themselves in a unique sensorial experience. “ The Giro Nizza – explains Stefano Chiarlo of the Nizza Producers Association – is more than a simple tasting; it is an invitation to experience the territory in all its facets, pairing great wines with typical local products, in a perfect balance between taste and culture .” The adventure begins as early as April 19th, with the AperiNizza at the Foro Boario in Nizza Monferrato, an unmissable opportunity to taste, from 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm, the forty-one Nizza DOCGs from the participating producers, accompanied by typical products in a festive atmosphere and conviviality. The event also includes the GiroMerenda, scheduled for April 27, a route that passes through four emblematic places of the 18 municipalities of the denomination, where the wine blends perfectly with the flavors of the earth. Furthermore, the PreGiro tradition offers, before and after the main event, the possibility of tasting the Nizza DOCG in selected wineries, thus consolidating an increasingly close bond between producers, enthusiasts and the territory. April therefore becomes the month dedicated to Nizza DOCG, a unique opportunity to discover and rediscover a territory rich in history, culture and flavours, through the eyes and hearts of its best interpreters.
