10th VINARIUS PRIZE FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS OF TRENTINO, BETWEEN TRAVEL AND SPECIAL AWARDS

  • 23/09/2025

From September 21st to 23rd, three days of in-depth study of the territory for the Vinarius wine shops dedicated to the food and wine and cultural excellence of Trentino

Following the awarding of the 10th Territory Prize , promoted by Vinarius – Association of Italian Wine Shops, an experiential journey took place from September 21st to 23rd, taking member wine shops directly to the heart of Trentino, the winning region of the 2025 edition. Last February, during the official ceremony held at the Senate of the Republic in Rome, the prestigious recognition was awarded to the "Trentino Mountains and Valleys," as a symbol of this region's ability to combine excellent viticulture with a sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Thanks to a rich calendar of activities organized in collaboration with the Consorzio Vini del Trentino, Vinarius members enjoyed three intense days discovering the region's rich food, wine, landscape, and culture, thus exploring the reasons that make it a hub for wine tourism and quality production.

" It is with profound pride that the Consorzio Vini del Trentino welcomed the members of Vinarius, an association that represents excellence in the national wine distribution landscape, " said Graziano Molon, General Manager of the Consorzio Vini del Trentino . " Our goal was to illustrate the complex architecture that supports our winemaking model, founded on three interconnected pillars: an unwavering commitment to certified and practiced environmental sustainability; the valorization of human capital, represented by the dedication of our winemakers, who are the primary custodians of the landscape; and finally, the relentless pursuit of quality, which combines innovation and respect for our roots. We hope that this experience has strengthened the strategic synergy between production and distribution, a fundamental alliance for conveying the authentic value of our territory to consumers ."

With this tenth edition, the Vinarius Territory Award confirms its status as a highly valuable recognition, established to highlight those Italian regions that best combine quality wine production with environmental protection, local traditions, and tourism development.

As part of the trip, two special awards were also given to local figures who, through their commitment and actions, have significantly contributed to promoting and strengthening the image of Trentino. On Monday, September 22nd, Vinarius continued the series of awards dedicated to the Trentino region with a ceremony, celebrating two organizations that have successfully combined expertise, dedication, and community outreach: Massimo Pizzato and the SAT – Società Alpinisti Tridentini .

Massimo Pizzato, Professor of Immunology at the University of Trento, will receive the award " for discovering a fundamental mechanism by which human cells can inhibit the replication of many viruses, including HIV and the coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic. During the health emergency, he also made a significant contribution to the Province of Trento's efforts to detect and combat viral infections, placing his scientific expertise at the service of the community. His internationally recognized work represents a benchmark for biomedical research and public health, and has brought prestige and visibility to Trentino on the global scientific stage ."

The SAT – Società Alpinisti Tridentini, represented by President Cristian Ferrari, “ for over 150 years, through its members, has tenaciously and professionally cared for the Alpine landscape, preserving and protecting trails so we can enjoy its beauty and more, offering hospitality in mountain huts and shelter in bivouacs. It transmits the values of Alpine culture to new generations, introducing them to this environment .”

The Vinarius Territory Award thus continues to be a beacon of Italian excellence, strengthening the dialogue between wine shops and their territories of origin.
