  • 13/05/2026

Meeting with producers, biodiversity, and wine culture. ALBA - Historic Center Sunday, May 24, 2026 From 11:00 am to 7:00 pm The Go Wine event celebrating Piedmont's native grape varieties

Go Wine presents the eighth edition of the Wine Festival dedicated to the Native Vines of Piedmont , scheduled for Sunday 24 May 2026 in the historic centre of Alba .

A tasting event that pays homage to the great richness of the Piedmontese vineyard: expressed through the native vines , described and offered for tasting in the direct presence of the producers .

The event will take place throughout the day, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm , transforming the historic centre of Alba into a large tasting trail dedicated to the biodiversity of Piedmont's winemaking .

A journey through the Piedmontese vineyard

The Wine Festival was created to showcase the richness and diversity of the region's ampelographic heritage, showcasing both famous and rarer varieties that have been revived and relaunched in recent years.

Over 40 grape varieties will be represented throughout the day, in an ideal journey through the Piedmont wine region: from the best-known grape varieties, such as Nebbiolo , Barbera , Dolcetto , Arneis or Timorasso , to lesser-known and particularly fascinating varieties such as Baratuciat , Bian Ver , Uvalino , Becuet , Caricalasino, Chatus, Rossese bianco and many others.

A journey that invites you to discover not only the wines, but also the territories, the stories, and the work of the wineries that preserve and interpret this extraordinary heritage.

Wine as an encounter with the cellars

The wineries will participate in the event by meeting the public directly at tasting tables that will enliven the city's historic center. Other grape varieties and wines will be presented in special themed wine shops , completing the tasting experience.

The Wine Festival is also an opportunity to experience wine as a meeting , dialogue, and story: a chance to get to know the producers up close, listen to the companies' stories, and explore the connection between grape variety, landscape, and territorial identity.

Special Guests: Portuguese Wines and Vermentino in Italy

In the spirit of encounter and discussion, two thematic wine shops will showcase a great native Italian grape variety and a foreign one.

In Italy, the choice fell on Vermentino: a grape variety that we can define as “Tyrrhenian,” because it looks to the sea and thrives in certain soils (such as the granite of Gallura in Sardinia).

Ninety percent of Vermentino in Italy comes from Liguria, Tuscany, and Sardinia, with some production also recorded in Umbria and Lazio.

A selection of labels will showcase its presence in various regions and give voice to important artists.

Portugal is this year's guest country: it boasts a long history and is the 11th largest wine producer in the world; regions such as Douro and Porto account for 20% of total national production.

A selection of wines will showcase the country's main wine-growing areas: from the Vinho Verde in the north to the largest wine-producing region in the south, Alentejo.

There are over 250 native Portuguese wines: we will present some of them in an exclusive wine shop.

Three masterclasses to deepen your knowledge

The day will feature several masterclasses on a variety of themes, including celebrating the 60th anniversary of the first DOC wines in Italy and highlighting Portuguese wines, the event's featured wines.
