On 30 and 31 January Monte dei Paschi di Siena Bank opens the doors of the Salimbeni Palace and hosts the first edition of the Wine&Siena Event, showcasing the excellence of wine production of Tuscany and Italy.


Ilaria Dalla Riva, Head of Human Resources, Organization and Communication of MPS Bank, commented: «Hosting a great industry event like Wine&Siena is the confirmation of the ongoing efforts by the Bank in supporting the city and the whole Tuscany. Entrepreneurship linked to the wine world requires large investments and expresses the internationally known brands and as a Bank we can not avoid adhering to initiatives that enhance private efforts and that create wealth and employment».

It will be Gourmet’s International, the organizer of the event in Merano, to select the more than a hundred exhibitors that will animate the Wine&Siena Event.

They will be especially Tuscan and, with their best wines, will give life to a tasting path in the interior spaces of the Salimbeni Palace, historical and of Monte dei Paschi di Siena Bank seat.

The path will unfold in the Spadolini Staircase, in the Rocca Hall and in the Peruzziana Gallery. Outside, in Salimbeni Square, there will be other wine&food stands.

«Siena is the Bordeaux of Italy and Tuscany deserves an event of excellence dedicated to wine, Andrea Vanni said, organizer of the Merano Wine Festival. We will bring in the heart of Tuscany the best of Italian wine production, by selecting companies out of those established and those emerging. There is also room for food, always with great attention to territories».

It is a common thread, that of the link between territories, businesses and quality of products, which needs synergies and joint efforts. «Wine&Siena will be the result of a collective effort – the mayor of Siena Bruno Valentini clarified – We have great entrepreneurs in this sector across the country. This is demonstrated by the fact that this year Italy surpassed France for quantity of wine produced. This event will be the first of a series of initiatives». Initiatives for which a synergy that allows the encounter of forces that aim to common goals is always needed.
