Wine Fair: Italy's wine story is told in Piacenza

An event where you can taste, purchase and learn more about terroir and production methods. Pre-sales starting in October

Anticipation is increasing for the new Wine Fair , a market exhibition for wine lovers and operators in the Ho.Re.Ca sector. scheduled at Piacenza Expo from 18 to 20 November 2023 . There are already over 200 Italian and foreign companies, with a significant presence of organic companies , which will take part in the event in the Emilian capital. “We are faced with a very positive trend in participation, which increases enthusiasm for this project, and numerous requests for participation continue to arrive – declares Alessandra Bottani , event manager – The city of Piacenza is also in turmoil and is preparing to best welcome the leading producers and visitors who will come to the event with numerous collateral activities”. Over the three days, wine lovers will be able to directly purchase the labels tasted at the tasting tables and deepen their knowledge of terroir and production methods through six masterclasses, which will feature some of the producers present at the fair and their most representative wines. On Saturday 18 November at 11.45am the reds of the Bel Paese will be explored in depth in " From north to south Italy: the great territories painted red ", in the company of Antonello Maietta, Former President of AIS - Italian Sommelier Association, journalist and food and wine populariser. At 2.30 pm Roberto Donadini, President of FISAR - Italian Sommelier Federation of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs, will lead the masterclass " When the Classic Method is modern: the elegance of Italian sparkling wine ". On Sunday 19 November, at 11.45am, the journalist and taster Fosca Tortorelli will lead the tasting " Between complexity, longevity and territoriality: the charm of whites that defy time " while at 2.30pm sweet and passito wines will be the protagonists of the tasting " Sweet expressions, colors and territories of our Peninsula ” led by Vito Intini, President of ONAV – National Organization of Wine Tasters. On Monday 20 November, created to allow sommeliers and professionals an optimal visit, at 11.00 there will be " The ABC of oil ", an in-depth study to discover the world of extra virgin olive oil together with Fosca Tortorelli , the qualities and aromas that characterize it. Each masterclass will cost 25 euros and will be bookable online from October. To conclude the training offer on Monday at 2.00 pm, the free tasting " Il Mito della Malvasia - Malvasia Myth ", conducted by the Gal del Ducato and linked to a Mediterranean cooperation project. Entrance and masterclass tickets can be purchased in advance on the event website starting from October.
