250 wineries, over 2000 labels and a program of great events that celebrated the Italian wine of excellence. Great space for business with 30 international buyers protagonists of meetings within the event and the educational tour in the territories of Irpinia-Sannio.
The three-day event dedicated to the excellence of Italian wine has ended successfully. This year too, VitignoItalia has made the Stazione Marittima in Naples a representative stage for excellent wine with a tasting itinerary that has embraced the entire peninsula. From producers and Consortia from Campania, to the most appreciated wine producers in the country, for over 250 companies that have attracted 12,000 visitors, including enthusiasts and operators in the sector. A select audience that, in addition to the interest shown by the wineries, has shown great participation in the dozens of meetings scheduled, opportunities to delve into the terroirs and the most interesting wines of the different regions, between dialogue with the producers and verticals of different vintages.
“A dynamic edition, capable of involving and enthralling both the general public and industry professionals, leaving us more than optimistic in view of the next edition, which will be the twentieth and which we will celebrate with an event full of surprises and novelties - underlines Maurizio Teti, Director of VitignoItalia - This year too we have given particular prominence to the wineries of our region, increasingly at the centre of the international spotlight; but as always VitignoItalia has given the right space to all the realities of Italian wine. We would like to thank UniCredit which, once again, has provided us with invaluable support and the Department of Agriculture of the Campania Region. Special thanks go to ICE which, year after year, allows our reality to grow at an international level, thanks to the selection of a group of great professionals”.
Of particular note, in fact, was the presence of 30 buyers from Europe and the world, protagonists of meetings with companies, both inside and outside the event. This time, in fact, the educational tour, which every year sees the discovery of the most interesting wine-growing areas of Campania, took place among the cellars of Irpinia-Sannio. An occasion that combined the business side with territorial valorization, projecting the Campania excellences on a global scale. No less important was the three-day masterclass program that allowed us to trace a real atlas of Italian wine, from Friuli-Venezia Giulia to Sicily, passing through the great wine-making territories and new realities waiting to be discovered. A rich calendar that gave the opportunity to learn the stories of the producers and their wines and, at the same time, to delve into and reflect on important issues in the sector through networking opportunities between professionals from various fields. From the relationship between wine and virtual reality, to the importance of the sensorial experience integrating tasting with the five senses, to topics such as sustainability, climate change and future prospects for the sector. All for an event that, edition after edition, is confirming itself as a strategic platform for the promotion of Italian wine and a point of reference for wineries, operators and enthusiasts from all over the Peninsula.
