VitignoItalia is underway: the Italy of wine takes the stage in Naples with a lineup of 2000 labels and a program of new activities

From Sunday 11th to Tuesday 13th May at the Maritime Station of Naples, Molo Angioino.

The countdown has begun for the new edition of VitignoItalia, the great Italian wine event that will animate the spaces of the Stazione Marittima in Naples from Sunday 11 to Tuesday 13 May. This year too, producers, press, industry professionals and wine lovers will meet in the capital of Campania to celebrate the excellence and terroirs of Italian wine. 200 wineries will be present for a total of over 2000 labels that will give life to a tasting journey to discover the stories of the producers and their territories.

“This year we really want to go further - underlines Maurizio Teti, Director of VitignoItalia - We are getting closer and closer to the 20th anniversary of our event and, edition after edition, the desire to build an increasingly transversal calendar, capable of involving different sectors and professionals, increases. All this to demonstrate how wine is a flexible and complex product, capable of dialoguing with various cultural expressions, from music to new technologies. A program of top-level meetings made possible by the precious contribution of the Campania Region Department of Agriculture and historic partners such as UniCredit, as well as thanks to the large participation of the wineries that, over the years, have believed more and more in our event, not only as a showcase of great excellence but also as a space for dialogue and networking with buyers and operators in the sector.”

The lineup of top-level wineries will be completed by the presence of large local Consortia such as the Consorzio Vita Salernum Vites and the Vesuvio Consorzio Tutela Vini, but also by important entities from southern Italy, including the Regional Company for the Development of Calabrian Agriculture and the Regional Institute of Wine and Oil of Sicily, and from the north such as the Consorzio Tutela Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore and the Consorzio DOC Friuli.

VitignoItalia, like every year, stages a schedule of meetings to deepen the dialogue between wine and different fields, starting from music with the tasting itinerary in collaboration with Coravin and the guide to the best rosés in Italy 100 Best Italian Rosé scheduled for the whole day of Tuesday 13. The initiative was born with the aim of choosing the musical composition capable of best enhancing the characteristics of each wine, giving life to a real sensorial liaison that opens new perspectives in terms of pairing. Among the most anticipated novelties of this edition there is also the Winestour, the immersive itinerary that will offer visitors the possibility of exploring the most interesting wine places in Italy wearing VR. An experience that, thanks to the magic of virtual reality, will transport you inside the cellars, give you the possibility of walking among the vineyards and admiring the most suggestive views of each territory.

“In this edition we have decided to take our event to an even higher level, not only in terms of content but also in terms of tasting quality - continues Maurizio Teti - with the introduction of the Privé35 glasses by Anima Cerve group. An additional care reserved for our visitors to best enhance the wines being tasted, both at the tasting tables and during the masterclasses. At the same time we continue to work on the business front with the organization of the educational tour dedicated to international buyers organized in collaboration with the Irpinia-Sannio Chamber of Commerce. An initiative that continues our collaboration with ICE which every year contributes to raising the status of our event thanks to a selection of the best professionals in the sector from all continents.”

In addition to the new events, numerous masterclasses dedicated to the most interesting wine realities, from north to south of the country, are scheduled: starting on Sunday 11th with Sicilian wines as protagonists, at 3:00 pm with “Sicilia enologica: vini e territori” and, at 4:30 pm, with the meeting “Le Bollicine di Sicilia”, which will then leave space, at 6:00 pm, for the Venetian bubbles with the masterclass “Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco: the potential of the Glera grape variety”. The day of Monday 12th will open at 10:30 am with the tasting dedicated to the denominations of Calabria; at 3:00 pm it will be time for underwater wines with the meeting “Jamin - the terrestrial tradition meets the innovation of the sea: UnderWater Wines, the positive characterization”. We will then arrive in Campania with the wines of the Cantina del Taburno and the tasting “Bue Apis, at the roots of Aglianico del Taburno” at 4.30 pm, and then again in Sicily to celebrate the emerald wedding of the Tasca d'Almerita winery, 1985-2025 "Forty years with immense love".

Tuesday 13th at 10.30 we start with the masterclass “What's boiling in Campania” focused on the region's bubbles, then the face-to-face appointment between the wines of Campania and Friuli with the meeting “Refosco dal peduncolo rosso DOC Friuli and Piedirosso dei Campi Flegrei DOP: native stories of ancient origins from Friuli to Campania”.

The last day ends at 5:30 pm with the talk “The future of Campania wine: sustainability, climate change and development”, which will also see the presentation of the guide published by Corriere del Mezzogiorno “50 niche wines (but not too much)”.
