Vinitaly_Less alcohol, but also less sugar: Distilleria Castagner's challenge for the NO-LO world

Manuela di Centa, Silvia Marangoni and Pietro Garbellotto (President of Imoco Volley) testimonials of the new Amaro Leon Zero and non-alcoholic aperitif Robì: athletes who have always been careful about alcohol and sugar.

“Alcohol is a means, not the end of a quality distillate; for this reason, if technology and our know-how allow it, it is right to look for solutions to reduce the alcohol content of distillates and meet the needs of those who cannot or do not want to drink.” Roberto Castagner, the mind and heart of Distilleria Castagner, is convinced of this. To present its low and no-alcohol novelties at Vinitaly, he wanted three testimonials from the world of sport, to underline one of the conditions in which it is necessary to avoid alcohol consumption and also be careful about sugars. Together with Olympic cross-country skiing champion Manuela di Centa, world skating champion Silvia Marangoni and the patron of Prosecco DOC-Imoco Volley Piero Garbellotto, Castagner presented two new completely alcohol-free products: Amaro Leon Zero and the non-alcoholic aperitif Robì.

These products are born in the Castagner laboratories, after several years of research: alcohol is used to extract essences in the infusion process and helps to give structure to the final product, replacing it is not a trivial chemical process. From this challenge was born the path of Castagner to succeed in extracting from botanical herbs their taste properties, while reducing sugars at the same time. "We have studied over 80 aromatic herbs, and only 20 have proven suitable to be used with great organoleptic results in this new frontier of zero-alcohol infusions. It is our "year zero" in the creation of completely innovative products, which are no less than traditional ones in terms of taste and pleasantness, but offer that healthy and natural attitude that many consumers today seek."
