Le Manzane, Springo Black: the elegance of Rive di Rua and the arduous rebirth of a vineyard.
The new brut of the premium line debuts at the next Vinitaly
San Pietro di Feletto, February 27, 2025_ Intriguing, sophisticated and wrapped in an aura of mysterious charm. Springo Black Conegliano Prosecco Superiore Rive di Rua Docg is born, the new brut from the Le Manzane winery (Treviso). Ernesto Balbinot together with his wife Silvana Ceschin and his children Marco and Anna will preview the new product at the next Vinitaly, from April 6 to 9.
Springo, the most prestigious line of the San Pietro di Feletto estate, is thus enriched with another sparkling wine, the fifth of the premium collection and the third of the Rive typology. The 11,930 bottles, carefully numbered, will be sold by reservation. Springo Black will be available starting in April in the Ho.re.ca. sector.
The packaging of the new Springo is elegant. As it has done for all the other sparkling wines of the line, this time too the Balbinot family has decided to dress the bottle with a refined dress: the tones and different shades of black of the tissue paper give it class, style and even a touch of mystery.
Springo Black encloses in the glass a family history never revealed until today. The new brut from the Le Manzane winery is a tribute to the family history of Silvana Ceschin, wife of Ernesto Balbinot, and celebrates the deep roots with the community and the local winemaking tradition. The Springo Black grapes come, in fact, from an impervious land that once belonged to Antonio Gio Maria Ceschin, Silvana's great-grandfather.
"Antonio Gio Maria was the founder of our family," says Silvana Ceschin. "With his charisma, he was known by everyone as the "mayor" of the town. When I pass by those parts, I still remember the stories that my grandfather Taddeo told me about great-grandfather Antonio Gio Maria and how that land had nourished entire generations. As time passed, and after the death of the great-grandfather, the property passed first to his brothers, then to his grandchildren and, finally, to his great-grandchildren, risking fragmenting the family fund."
"Many years later - continues Silvana - my brother and I decided not to lose this heritage and to carry on this legacy made of hard work and love for the land, taking over the shares of the family vineyard from relatives with the aim of keeping alive the link with the past". Today, in this "Riva", we find the authentic soul of that tradition: a wine with a refined character. Compared to the other versions, this Brut reference has a more intense structure, a more pronounced minerality and a more decisive aromatic profile, in addition to a depth of taste and a crispness that represent two important characteristics of the wine.
The latest creation from Le Manzane presents itself with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose the scents are fresh and mineral, of white flowers and light notes of bread-making obtained from the long rest on the yeasts. In the mouth the flavor is full, intense and mineral with notes of sage, in addition to savory and vertical sensations also due to the low residual sugar. Springo Black pairs well with shellfish, fish-based first courses and seafood cuisine in general. Excellent to sip in company for those looking for an elegant aperitif.
