Vinifera 2021: the spring of wine blooms en plein air

The new edition of Vinifera , the exhibition dedicated to artisanal wines from the Alps , returns on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 May 2021 , at the Trento Fair . The mountains surrounding the city will be the backdrop for this special edition: for the first time the event organized by the Centrifuga association moves from the traditional date of early spring to the end of May, thus allowing for outdoor set-up. There will be over 50 producers from the Alpine regions who, from their tasting benches, will tell firsthand the fruits of a viticulture that can be defined heroic, due to the harsh conditions in which it is carried out and which plays a fundamental role in the care of mountain territories. "This year we have decided to move the wine exhibition outside - comments Elena Grulli , contact person for the selection of winemakers of the Centrifuga association - to allow visitors to live a positive experience in full compliance with the safety and distancing measures required. to the health emergency from Covid-19. The first two editions of Vinifera, in 2018 and 2019, took place in the first weekend of spring: the hope is that, despite being at the end of May, Vinifera is still synonymous with a new beginning, a good omen of rebirth for the entire wine supply chain, severely hit by many months of pandemic, and for all the events in which it is the protagonist. The mountain winemakers have a heroic character, accustomed to a territory that is often bristling and demanding to work. We want to take them as an example for the restart, looking at the strength and tenacity with which they face difficulties ". Vinifera wants to be an opportunity to get to know passionate producers and their wines of character, the result of often extreme territories and climates, a moment to meet authentic people and taste genuine flavors, to start again in serenity to share new experiences and become protagonists of a ethical and responsible evolution. Two masterclasses are also scheduled to explore these issues: the first, Saturday 29, dedicated to Teroldego and the second, Sunday 30, dedicated to PIWI wines. Inside the fair there will also be a dedicated food area, with gastronomic proposals made by local food artisans, where different dishes will be served to match the wines and to be tasted comfortably seated on spaced tables.
