Necessity sharpens ingenuity: after the cancellation of the 2020 edition due to Coronavirus, the popular wine review Vinea Tirolensis returns thanks to a new format compatible with anti-contagion regulations. Also this year the most important event organized by the South Tyrolean Winegrowers Association will take place in Bolzano in the traditional setting of the Fiera Hotel, offering two days with Masterclass tastings, a wine library and the usual in-depth meetings with winemakers and oenologists. The appointment is for Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 October in the pavilions of Fiera Bolzano.

Vinea Tirolensis is the most important wine tasting organized by the South Tyrolean Winegrowers Association (FWS); for years now an integral part of Fiera Hotel, the specialized review of the gastronomic and hotel sector, the wine event showcases the wines of dozens of independent producers. In 2019 the event celebrated the 20 years since the birth of the association, which today includes 100 independent winemakers who produce in family-run estates. In 2020, as mentioned, the exhibition was canceled due to the pandemic just close to the scheduled date, when the ban on food and drink came into force.

Here then is that Vinea Tirolensis 2021 will take place in two days, rather than in a single day as in the past. New innovations have also been introduced for the wine tasting, starting with the Masterclass tastings : they will be held three times a day at fixed times in a room set up for the occasion and will offer guided tastings that participants can follow with headphones and with the debt. physical distancing. The speakers were chosen from among the winemakers of the association itself; each tasting lasts about an hour and a half, costs 10 euros and requires reservations.

Without reservation - but for a maximum of 20 people at the same time - it will instead be possible to access the wine library , or a tasting desk run by expert sommeliers. There will be the opportunity to taste a type of wine from different associated winemakers; moreover, under the motto “ask the winemaker”, some producers will be present to answer the questions of the interested parties. The wine library is always open, the wine tasting list is displayed on site and will be specifically communicated.
