On Friday, 30th January 2015, the Vene–Terroir conference will take place: to take stock of the situation, from the color of the soil to the biodiversity of the vineyards. The event is at 6:00 p.m. at the Strampelli Institute of Lonigo (Vicenza). During the meeting, the state of the Vene–Terroir project managed by the University of Padua in collaboration with the Colli Berici and Vicenza Wines Consortium and the Colli Euganei Wines Consortium will be presented.
In effect, since September 2013 they are carrying out a study on the biodiversity of the soils and the wines of the 12 vineyards of Berici and Euganean Hills to bring in practical terms the meaning of the definition of "terroir".
The objective is to test and develop a new model of sustainable management of agricultural surfaces in relation to the conservation of biodiversity. The project, led by Prof. Maurizio Guido Paoletti, will end in June 2015.
At the meeting they will take stock of the situation of the project presenting: the study of the soils of the vineyards; preliminary data on bacteria, fungi and on the vitality of the soil; the results of sensory and olfactometry analysis. Professors and students of the University of Padua involved in the project will intervene.
The meeting will be held on Friday, 30th January, at 6:00 p.m., in the conference hall of the Institute of Agricultural Genetics and Experimentation "N. Strampelli" in Via Guglielmo Marconi, 1 in Lonigo (Vicenza).
