The District is launching its first promotional project for 2026, with a space dedicated to promoting Umbrian wineries and strengthening the presence of Umbrian wine on the market through tastings, informative workshops, and in-depth discussions.
The Umbrian Wine Quality District announces its participation in Vinitaly 2026, where it will oversee the entire construction and sponsorship of the Enoteca within the Umbria Pavilion – Pavilion D, areas A1 – D4. This project officially marks the launch of promotional activities for 2026 and represents the first concrete step in the District's three-year program, following the launch of activities at the end of 2025 with its participation in Vinitaly Chicago.
The Enoteca will be completely customized with graphics and a visual identity dedicated to the District, with the aim of promoting Umbria's winemaking heritage and strengthening its positioning on national and international markets. The 22 participating wineries will have dedicated visibility, with a corner displaying their top selections.
Alongside the District's wines, over fifty wines from co-exhibiting wineries will be featured in the Umbria Pavilion, as well as an "AIS Selection" corner, dedicated to the 13 regional labels included in the 2026 AIS Vitae Guide Selections in the categories "100 Great Wines," "100 Local Wines," "100 Innovative/Revelation Wines," and "100 Value/Price Wines." All the wines featured in the Enoteca—over a hundred from all of Umbria's winegrowing regions—form a vast "library" of quality Umbrian wines, both with designations of origin and certified.
The Umbrian Quality Wine District will also have a dedicated space in the Pavilion's rich program of events on Tuesday, April 14, at 10:30 a.m., with the conference titled "Umbrian Quality Wine District: Implementation of the Three-Year Project – Initial Actions and Comparison with Other Italian Districts ." The meeting will provide a high-profile opportunity for strategic discussion among the sector's key players, with the participation of the National District Council, Umbria Top, ministerial representatives, and authoritative stakeholders. The goal is to share initial operational actions and outline development prospects for the wine districts nationwide.
The District will also be the protagonist of another important event during the festival: on Saturday evening, Palazzo Verità Poeta will host the event " Umbria 100% – Quality You Can Feel ," a food and wine experience entirely dedicated to the Umbria Region. This is the first time Umbria has participated in the city's entertainment programs with a themed "Fuori Fiera" event, coordinated, promoted and organized by Confcooperative Umbria in partnership with the Umbria Jazz® Foundation. For this occasion, the District and Umbria Top will curate the selection of wines paired with finger food and typical regional DOP-certified products, helping to showcase the region's excellence. The evening will be enhanced by the Umbria Jazz Foundation, which will provide live musical accompaniment with "Accordi Disaccordi," the renowned Italian gypsy jazz trio, for an immersive experience of Umbria's high-quality cuisine.
The District's promotional campaign will continue internationally with participation in the "Real Italian Wine & Food Experience," scheduled for April 26 and 27 in London, organized in collaboration with the Umbria Chamber of Commerce.
Umbrian Wine Quality District
Umbria Top, the Umbrian winery cooperative, has launched a three-year project to harmonize and develop the regional winemaking industry. This project, through a public-private partnership, focuses on four pillars: productive investments, training, innovation, technology and sustainability, and promotion.
The objectives
The Umbrian Quality Wine District aims to strengthen the sector's assets over the long term: increased productivity, improved sustainability performance and related certification, ongoing training for entrepreneurs and operators, and support for marketing and promotion. These objectives are pursued through a complex and integrated program of interventions, coordinated by Umbria Top Wines, involving companies, institutions, and accredited partners.
