Only a few days have passed since the closing of Vinitaly, which saw the Umbrian Quality Wine District take center stage for the first time in initiatives dedicated to Umbrian wine, from the preview evening to the activities at the Umbria Pavilion, with a particularly popular regional wine shop and a discussion involving numerous other Italian wine districts.
The team is now ready to restart for a new important international event: the Real Italian Wine & Food Experience , scheduled for April 26 and 27 at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in London, one of Europe's largest and most important exhibition centers. The event, which continues the experience of the Real Italian Wine & Food format, which has been running for over 15 years, confirms its position as one of the most strategic trade platforms for promoting Italian wine and food on international markets.
The London edition is part of a highly significant international context, with the participation of over 250 agri-food producers and the expected attendance of more than 1,500 professionals, including buyers, importers, distributors, agents, restaurateurs, and sommeliers. A digital matchmaking system allows for the scheduling of numerous B2B meetings, fostering targeted and highly profiled business connections. The 2025 edition saw over 230 exhibitors travel from overseas to meet with more than 1,650 buyers from across North America—the United States, Canada, and Mexico—and Latin American countries, such as Brazil.
Representing Umbria will be Chiorri, Azienda Agricola Mevante, Castello di Montegiove, Terre de la Custodia, and Guerrini, representing the regional sector and the joint work of the production system coordinated by Umbria Top Wines.
Participation is part of a broader shared promotion strategy that sees the collaboration between the Umbrian Quality Wine District and the Umbria Chamber of Commerce , in synergy with the Umbrian Quality Wine District, with the aim of strengthening the region's presence on international markets and promoting not only wine but also other regional agri-food excellences.
Alongside the wineries, there will also be producers of extra virgin olive oil, a craft brewery, and chocolate producers, demonstrating a comprehensive offering of Made in Umbria products.
" The British market is showing growing curiosity and a strong desire to deepen its knowledge of Umbrian wines," says Gioia Bacoccoli, District coordinator . "After years of halting collective promotional activities, today, thanks to the support of District funds and collaboration with the Umbria Chamber of Commerce, we can once again establish a strategic presence in this market. The goal is to reactivate existing commercial relationships and consolidate new opportunities for our companies in a country that continues to show great interest in Umbria and its products ."
Preceding the two days of the fair will be a Blind Tasting , scheduled for April 25th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Designed as an opportunity for openness and networking, the event will offer visitors the opportunity to blindly taste the wines on display and leave structured feedback that will then be collected and shared with the exhibitors. This informal yet highly qualified opportunity for direct discussion between producers, buyers, and industry professionals.
The Real Italian Wine & Food Experience thus confirms its position as a strategic platform for the international promotion of Italian wine, capable of combining exhibition, commercial relations, and digital innovation, strengthening Umbria's role within the major global food and wine markets.
