The intense edition of Radici del Sud closes its doors, with the award ceremony, the hall and the celebration of the winning wines

The eighteenth edition of Radici del Sud , the multi-event that for about a week saw Puglia as the protagonist with BtoB meetings, press trips and finally the Southern Wine and Oil Exhibition open to the public, ended with the presentation of the prizes of the international competition at the Norman Swabian Castle of Sannicandro di Bari with about 90 exhibiting companies including wine, oil and typical products.

In competition over 350 wines divided by blend categories. Four tasting commissions will judge them: two made up of Italian journalists, influencers and wine writers; two by international journalists. The opinion of the commissioners agrees for a progressive and constant growth in the average quality of the products in recent years who place the wines of the South from native vines as an opportunity for an alternative proposal to the more widespread denominations in many markets.

To close the day open to the public, attended by a qualified audience of professional operators, there were also the mayor of Sannicandro Beppe Giannone who represented the institutions of the Puglia Region that offer support to the event , followed by interventions by Nicola Campanile , creator of Radici del Sud, Massimo Tripaldi president of Assoenologi PBC and the four presidents of the jury Maurizio Valeriani (vinodabere.it), Luca Matarazzo (20 Italie), Richard Baudains (Decanter) and Andrea Terraneo (Vinarius ) . New ideas and proposals emerged during the day of the show also through the same producers present at the event to relaunch Radici del Sud as early as the next edition. An effective collaboration between southern producers and restaurants, which can increasingly be a driving force for the penetration of national and international markets.

"New challenges and new changes await us for the next edition - declared the organizer Nicola Campanile - we intend to commit ourselves more and more to the value of knowledge and the discovery of the stories and products of the South to offer to guests, especially international ones who demonstrate that they have a profound knowledge of our South moved essentially by the feeling towards the territories and products of the South".
