The Earth trembles 2011

Authentic wines and winemakers, peri-urban farmers, food and poetry from the earth

Milan 2011, an ever-growing movement of farmers is about to reach the metropolis... along the way the battle cries sound!

This year La Terra Trema will host over one hundred producers, farmers and peasants in the metropolis to tell their stories of resistance , to show us the ways to go for an alternative to this post-post modern development system. To let us taste, savor and rejoice with their wine, with the flavors, aromas and the stories of their products.
It would have been almost double that had more space. They contacted us by the hundreds, from all over Italy, to participate in this assault. We intend to meet these farmers soon.

La Terra Trema will also host a series of meetings this year.
The VINOTAV Rosso di Chiomonte PDO. Directly from the Popular Opposition , a product at risk of extinction. In fact, construction works for the new Turin-Lyon high-speed line are expected to begin in those parts. Drinking the wine from this bottle not only supports an agricultural activity in the area, but also contributes to a struggle for the survival of the entire Valsusa. Andrea Turio (Clarea cooperative) and Ludovico Jengo (NOTAV committees) will be present.
Giacomo Ruiu will tell us about the black Verzascan goat , the mountain, and its cheeses with tastings of the Intelvi Valley caciotta and the Luinese cheese.
Gigi Brozzoni (Luigi Veronelli Permanent Seminar) will discuss with us about wine subservient to market demands, homologated conformist and alluring, and about wine that instead tells of seasons and territories, of stories of men and women, of struggles: when this happens it is there a revolution begins. In the tasting you will taste a peasant wine, an enologically perfect wine, a macerated wine, a semi-industrial wine.
Genuino Clandestino will be screened . Movement of peasant resistance , by Nicola Angrisano produced by the InsuTv collective. A cry of accusation against European policies, the Italian agricultural industrial chain and the politics of large retailers. It deals with the theme of "new farmers", "outside" the circle of large agriculture, of great certifications, of European contributions, who despite everything fight to produce genuine products, according to the peasant tradition, but often also clandestine, because they are not covered by the law .

The evenings will end with unmissable concerts: projects by Italian and foreign musicians, who made the history of underground music in the 90s, and new quality proposals.
Katzuma was born in 2004 from the meeting of Deda, producer and mc (Isola Posse, Sangue Misto, Neffa), and keyboardist Tony T. It has its roots in funk and disco.
Mombu is the new project by Luca T. Mai and Antonio Zitarelli respectively sax in ZU and drums in Neo.
Egle Sommacal , guitarist composer (Massimo volume, Ulan Bator), will play accompanied by winds.
Bellini is a rhythmic, hermetic and handsome aggressive quartet composed of Agostino Tilotta, his wife Giovanna Cacciola (Uzeda), bassist Matthew Taylor (the Romulans) and drummer Alexis Fleisig (Girls Against Boys).
Dj P. Minella will close the village Saturday with his DDD disco dancehall deephouse.
The blues will be on stage with The Reverend and the Fiddler ( Mauro Ferrarese , voice and guitar, and Enzo Albini , violin), and with Amanda and the band , whose solo voice and soul of the group, Amanda Tosoni, is a driving force with determination and rare voice.
Sakee Sed , a young duo from Bergamo capable of passing from folk to stoner while keeping intact a genuineness that on stage becomes, depending on the case, romantic or festive.

During all three days, Leoncavallo's Pop Kitchen will prepare spectacular lunches and dinners with the products of the farmers present. Also this year there will be fried fish, very fresh from the seas of Sicily, by the Cooperative of the Gulf .

Celebrating together and toasting to life even in these uncertain and difficult moments.
Aware that even by crossing The earth trembles one can find viable roads for real change, and that even in this way revolutions are born.
Because it is no longer enough for us to be just honest and conscientious buyers of happy degrowth.
We are pissed off, we are upset by silly policies that have brought us this far.
