Terre di Toscana 2014

  • 19/12/2013

Here we are! As usual, approaching the end of the year, we are to present the seventh edition of “Terre di Toscana” (“Lands of Tuscany”). It will take place, as the previous five editions, in Lido di Camaiore, in the halls of the fascinating UNA Hotel Versilia, on 2 and 3 March 2014. For all the details you can visit the dedicated website www.terreditoscana.info, and the Facebook and Twitter pages, but we tell you in summary that this year many tasting counters of different producers and more than 600 wines will wait for you, with a replacement that comes close to a fifth of the participants, so as even our most loyal visitors will not find themselves without pleasant surprises. The new entries have been chosen monitoring, as we always do in the year that passes between an edition and the other, among the most intriguing realities that stand out for talent and ability in interpreting their territory.

“Terre di Toscana” is renewed, while remaining faithful to its philosophy, that of an event that aims to tell about the viticulture of an area that is fundamental for Italy and the world, allowing you to discover from the glasses and the words of the producers present in person, which are the trends, ideas, reflections that every year “move” many winemakers to do certain choices in the countryside and in cellars.

In the charming environment of Una Hotel on the seafront of Lido di Camaiore, in the province of Lucca, on 2 and 3 March the greatest vineyard workers in Tuscany will meet, to offer visitors a panorama of over 600 labels representing almost all the regional wine districts. You will have the opportunity to enjoy expressions of the most well–known territories, such as Montalcino with its precious Brunello wines, Chianti Classico with its harmonious and complex red wines, Montepulciano with great Nobile and San Gimignano wines, home to one of the most tradition–rich white wines: Vernaccia. Alternatively, you can know winemaking areas that are more recent, but certainly not least known, like Bolgheri and Maremma, or emerging ones like Montecucco, Cornia Valley, Cortona, Pisa, the Lucca and Massa Hills.

“Terre di Toscana” is not just wine. Even in this seventh edition there will be an event in the event dedicated to the haute cuisine of the area: “Golosizia”, edited by the wine journalist Claudio Mollo. During the delicious cooking show, historical Tuscan chefs and rising stars will alternate, to go to the discovery of regional novelties in the food industry, and to pay homage to those who, for a long time, have been contributing to the reputation of Tuscan cuisine in the world.

A lot of space, finally, to gastronomy, where real taste artisans, producers of salami, cheese, olive oil, conserves and much more, will offer for tasting and sale their goodness.

For now, a fond goodbye to next year, on 2 and 3 March in Lido di Camaiore. Do not miss it!

Postscript: This is a very difficult moment for the Italian economy, and then, also for the economy of wine, which is fortunately helped by the foreign market. Therefore, it is undeniable that investing without having the immediate economic return can be considered often a rash move. So we thank warmly especially the winemakers that this year have given us confidence choosing our event among the many others proposed to them. Encouraged by the compliments and the encouragement that we receive each year, we will do our best once again for making “Terre di Toscana” what, according to many people, is the par excellence meeting of Tuscan quality wine.
