Talosa , a historic winery in Montepulciano, confirms its role as a protagonist in the promotion of Vino Nobile thanks to its enthusiastic support for the “Pievi del Nobile” project, an initiative that is rewriting the future of the denomination through zoning and the rediscovery of its historic vineyards.
An effort rewarded by international critics with the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Pieve Le Grazie 2021 , which obtained 95 points on Vinous, earning the attention of critic Eric Guido, who defined it as "everything I hoped it would be", underlining its elegance, complexity and the extraordinary expressive capacity of the terroir.
The “Pievi del Nobile” project , launched in 2020 by the Consorzio del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, marked a paradigm shift for the denomination, introducing a zoning system that enhances the individual historical geographical units of the territory. This in-depth study identified twelve Pievi, particularly suited microzones where Sangiovese – here called Prugnolo Gentile – expresses unique nuances, linked to the composition of the soil, the altitude and the microclimate.
Talosa has embraced this vision from the beginning, investing in Pieve Le Grazie, a historic area with vineyards that have been cultivated for generations and are now entirely organic . An exceptional terroir that gives its wines structure, aromatic depth and balance, qualities recognized and rewarded by critics.
Pieve Le Grazie 2021 , protagonist of the Anteprima del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2025 and soon to debut at Vinitaly 2025 , stands out for its minty freshness and balsamic nuances, accompanied by notes of dried black cherries, dark chocolate and cloves, with a long and spicy finish that extraordinarily expresses the identity of its Pieve of origin. Approximately 2500 bottles of the first vintage of Pieve Le Grazie 2021 were produced.
