Puntay Peak Nat. At Vinitaly 2023 Erste Neue presents its first bubbles

In the highest and most extreme vineyards found on the Mendola coast, the Pinot Blanc manages to acquire an enthralling aroma and that ideal acidity to give rise to bubbles of great freshness and pleasantness. Erste Neue has chosen the 55th edition of Vinitaly to present, from 2 to 5 April 2023, Puntay Peak Nat 2022 , its first sparkling wine which becomes part of the flagship line of the company based in Caldaro.

" We are very happy to present to the professional public who will be present at Vinitaly our first bubbles that become part of the Puntay line " explains Martin Klammer , marketing director of Erste Neue , historic winery based in Caldaro in Alto Adige-Südtirol. " We had in mind for some time to present our first sparkling wine and once again the goal was one that could consistently interpret our claim 'Wines for your #PEAKMOMENTS'. We think we have succeeded: these bubbles, very expressive from an aromatic point of view, they are at the same time truly dynamic on the palate thanks to the right balance between freshness and sapidity.They manage to convey in the glass the uniqueness of the Alpine territory in which our members are lucky enough to lead their vineyards. label, moreover, very direct and linear, as in the Puntay style, depicts an ibex, one of the symbols of our mountains .

Puntay Peak Nat 2022 is obtained from 100% Pinot Blanc grapes, grown on calcareous morainic soils present in the highest vineyards on the Mendola coast, in the summit areas of the town of Caldaro. After a soft pressing of the whole cluster and a decantation and transfer into stainless steel tanks, the fermentation takes place very slowly. Once the 18 g/l of residual sugar is reached, the wine is bottled, as tradition dictates: here, after the second fermentation, it rests for about six months on its lees before being disgorged at the end of March and capped with the traditional stopper mushroom. Very fragrant bubbles are born, extremely clear with aromas of crunchy white fruit and slight balsamic notes. On the palate the mix of freshness and sapidity, with a very fine carbonic acid, despite the short time spent in the bottle, give an engaging and refreshing drink. At the table it can accompany convivial aperitifs, but also dishes with excellent personality: try it with oysters, raw shellfish, salted butter and anchovies, rice salad or grilled fish.

The new Peak Nat 2022 VSQ Brut 2022 becomes part of Erste Neue's Puntay line , which represents the spearhead of the winery, the highest expression capable of combining the alpine spirit of its wines and the refinement of the perfumes thanks to a careful and meticulous selection in the vineyard of the grapes grown in the most suitable plots available to its members. Now the line consists of 9 labels: in addition to the new sparkling wine, in fact, there are four whites - Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Gewürztraminer (another novelty) -, three reds - Kalterersee Classico Superiore, Pinot Nero Riserva and Lagrein Riserva -, and a raisin wine.

The new Puntay Peak Nat 2022 has a production of 6000 bottles and is marketed exclusively in the Horeca and specialized retail channels.
