Preview of the Exhibition of Italian wines and wine-growing territories

On Monday 28 November the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Naples hosts the PREVIEW OF VITIGNOITALIA , the traditional tasting event awaiting the eighth edition of the May Salone. At 5 pm in the conference room of the hotel the 2012 edition of Vitignoitalia is presented: the new claim "Show of Italian wines and wine-growing territories" and all the contents and news of the Show that will take place from 20 to 22 May in Castel of the Ovo.

The meeting is an opportunity to take stock of the current scenario of Italian and Campania wine , the opportunities to be seized and the new strategies of Vitignoitalia. Luigi Moio, Full Professor of Oenology at the Department of Food Sciences of the University of Naples will speak; Lucio Mastroberardino, President of the Italian Wines Union; Tommaso De Simone, President of Unioncamere Campania; Vito Amendolara, Councilor for Agriculture of the President of the Regional Council, Francesco Continisio National President of European Sommeliers and Chicco De Pasquale, President of Vitignoitalia. Moderated by Giorgio dell'Orefice, journalist of Agrisole - Il Sole 24 ore.

The Mayor of Naples, Luigi De Magistris will participate.

Afterwards, from 6 pm, the tasting counter opens in the Salone degli Specchi. As per tradition, about one hundred wineries will give a taste of what will be the eighth edition of the wine show scheduled in Naples, at Castel dell'Ovo, from 20 to 22 May 2012. From north to south, from Piedmont to Sicily, traditional, ancient and rediscovered vines, the result of the dedication of stubborn and passionate winemakers, will once again demonstrate the incredible variety and quality of Italian wines and wine-growing territories. With more than 12,000 visitors and about 250 participating wineries, Vitignoitalia represents an eagerly awaited and inevitable appointment for enthusiasts, sommeliers, buyers, collectors, journalists, winemakers and restaurateurs. A format that has been confirmed as the most qualified and eagerly awaited wine event in the Center-South and which is enriched every year with initiatives, meetings and above all with new wine varieties for tasting. And that this year will be strongly export oriented.

The Preview is an opportunity to present to exhibitors, the press and the public all the news of the 2012 edition. The evening aims to stimulate a wider interactivity between producers, sommeliers and participants, through tastings guided by insights and comments from experts, which will illustrate its organoleptic characteristics , origin and typicality.
