Towards Expo 2015

For the first time, after almost twenty years of “Piedmont Harvest Preview”, the data of the wine vintage will be presented outside of the borders of Piedmont: an event organized by the Piedmont Region, Piedmont Winegrowers and Piedmont Land of Perfection, that will take place in Milan on 29th November at 3:30 p.m., in Cascina Cuccagna, an ancient rural dwelling in the city center, still today a symbol of land and agriculture.

Milan is preparing itself for Expo 2015. In this sense, the choice to bring here “Piedmont Harvest Preview 2013” reflects the desire to put immediately our local excellence at the center of the international exhibition, reserving on the occasion of the universal exhibition an outstanding place to our land and its productions.

Therefore, a strong signal in view of Expo 2015, a challenge to grasp with enthusiasm right from the beginning, during which the meeting numbers and forecasts on the quality of the harvest will be presented, but not only: in the name of an activity –winemaking– that for our area means harmonious combination of economy, tradition, culture and landscape, the Milan event will be an opportunity to reward the double prize “Piedmont Harvest Preview 2013”, the one in the memory of the writer Beppe Fenoglio on the 50th anniversary of his death, and the other to the future, assigned to two writers, lovers and poets of wine and of the Piedmont lands: Enrico Remmert and Luca Ragagnin.

An all–round event, among culture and promotion, analysis of the production context and confrontation of the reality of wine. At the event, where the President of the Piedmont Region Roberto Cota and the President of the Lombardy Region Roberto Maroni are invited, among others, the Assessor for Agriculture of the Piedmont Region Claudio Sacchetto, the President of Piedmont Land of Perfection Andrea Ferrero, the President of Piedmont Winegrowers Giulio Porzio, the Territory Marketing Director of the Italian Pavilion Expo 2015 Fabrizio Grillo. “Piedmont Harvest Preview” is traditionally an important moment for our country, a reality that expresses as well as 18 DOCG and 44 DOC: wines which have become a symbol of Made in Italy. The exhibition combines with the numerical analysis of a rural sector, the strong bond that ties the wine business with its own territory, made up of values, history and scenic beauty, which have led to the nomination of the Piedmont wine landscapes in the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
