The 20th edition of Cibus, organized by Fiere di Parma and Federalimentare, opened today in Parma and will remain on display until 3 September. Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, spoke in live streaming at Cibus: “ The reopening of Cibus in presence represents an international signal from Italy, in a sector in which the country boasts a world leadership. With Ice Agenzia we have allocated more than one million euros for Cibus 2021, to favor incoming missions of operators and journalists from abroad. All this in the context of an investment of 57 million euros in the Extraordinary Plan for the Promotion of Made in Italy. The XX edition of Cibus was inaugurated by Gino Gandolfi, President of Fiere di Parma; Federico Pizzarotti, Mayor of Parma; Stefano Bonaccini, President of the Emilia-Romagna Region . During the first day, the Inaugural Conference was held in the morning, with two round tables, one dedicated to industry and the other to distribution. In the afternoon, the Federalimentare assembly was held, where Carlo Bonomi, President of Confindustria, also spoke: “ The food processing industry has a prominent role that is not recognized by either politics or the media. Internationally, among the G7 countries, it is second only to that of the United States of America. We must think in terms of the supply chain, the successes must be attributed to everyone, to the relationships of businesses with food producers, with distribution networks, with the out-of-home sector. Given the sensitivity shown by the Draghi government, we can be optimistic about the blockade in Italy of Nutriscore nutritional labeling, scientifically unfounded ”. Among the various interventions, that of Carlo Maria Ferro, President of ICE Agenzia : “ Agri-food exports grew by 10% or more in the first half of 2021 and our commitment is to support this sector. We have made 19 agreements in favor of the sector with the large-scale retail trade and 15 new actions to help companies in the digital transformation towards sustainability ”.
